South Willamette Valley Honor Flight

“Honor Flight – One Last Mission” to show May 25 in Lebanon.  See the NEWS link for details.

South Willamette Valley Honor Flight is registered with the State of Oregon as DBA  Honor Flight of Oregon, and is a proud member of the Honor Flight Network. Honor Flight of Oregon is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization and all donations made are tax deductable. Created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices we transport our heroes living in Oregon to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.

Of all of the wars in recent memory, it was World War II that truly threatened our very existence as a nation—and as a culturally diverse, free society. Now, with over one thousand World War II veterans dying each day, our time to express our thanks to these brave men and women is running out.

South Willamette Valley Honor Flight Inaugural Flight - October 2012.
Based out of Eugene Oregon, our first flight was able to escort 58 Veterans from western Oregon to Washington D.C. to be recognized for their service to America.

See the News link for information about our 2013 Honor Flight schedule.

Mission Statement

Transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Goal:

Helping Oregon veterans, willing and able of getting on a plane, visit THEIR memorial.

Priority:

Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes – survivors of World War II and any veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit THEIR memorial.

Philosophy:

Since America felt it was important to build a memorial to the service and the ultimate sacrifice of her veterans, the Honor Flight Network and South Willamette Valley Honor Flight believes it’s equally important that they actually get to visit and experience THEIR memorial.

Motto:

“We can’t all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by.” – Will Rogers

The 2013 Flying Season is here:

In 2012 the Honor Flight Network, nation wide, was successful in escorting 17,424 veterans to their memorial, with the help of 14.500 volunteers. Since Honor Flight begain flying in 2005 we have escorted 98,772 veterans.
