South Willamette Valley Honor Flight is registered with the State of Oregon as DBA  Honor Flight of Oregon, and is a proud member of the Honor Flight Network. Honor Flight of Oregon is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization and all donations made are tax deductible. Created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices we transport our heroes living in Oregon to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.  The Honor Flight is for veterans who have not yet visited their Memorials in Washington, D.C.

Of all of the wars in recent memory, it was World War II that truly threatened our very existence as a nation—and as a culturally diverse, free society. Now, with over one thousand World War II veterans dying each day, our time to express our thanks to these brave men and women is running out.

South Willamette Valley Honor Flight update - Between October 2012
and May 2014, 210 WWII veterans from Lane, Linn, Lincoln, and Benton counties were transported to Washington D.C. on our Honor Flights to be recognized for their service to America.  We thank you for your generous support.

The next Honor Flight for 2014 will be held on Oct. 16 – 19.  Positions on a Honor Flight are filled in the order applications are received.

Mission Statement

Transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Goal:

Helping Oregon veterans, willing and able of getting on a plane, visit THEIR memorial.

Priority:

Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes – survivors of World War II and any veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit THEIR memorial.

Philosophy:

Since America felt it was important to build a memorial to the service and the ultimate sacrifice of her veterans, the Honor Flight Network and South Willamette Valley Honor Flight believes it’s equally important that they actually get to visit and experience THEIR memorial.

Motto:

“We can’t all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by.” – Will Rogers
